Zelma Mae King

August 17, 1910 — July 12, 2005

Zelma Mae King age 94 of North Lawrence passed away Tuesday July 12, 2005 at the Massillon Community Hospital. Zelma was born August 17, 1910 in Baughman Twp. in Wayne County to the late Ivan & Minnie (Wertz) Yost. She was a 1929 graduate of Washington High School and received a teaching certificate from Kent State. She taught at Sixteen School until she married Walter King who passed away in 1977. Zelma has been a member of Sixteen St. John Church since 1926, a member of the Women’s Guild and taught Sunday School for more than 50 years. An avid quilter, she made over 100 quilts. Many were given to grandchildren, great grandchildren and as wedding gifts. In addition to her husband a brother Marion Yost preceded her in death She is survived by: Sons & Daughters in Law Leonard & Karen King Lester & Cynthia King Carl & Iva King Calvin & Suzanne King all of the Massillon area Sister Esther Shriver of Clinton Brother Glenn Yost of Perry Hts. Nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday July 16, 2005 at Sixteen St. John Church, her pastor Rev. Tom Hough will officiate. Burial will be at Sixteen Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, and one hour before on Saturday at the church.
