Zelma M. Strecker

Zelma M. Strecker, age 99 passed away at Amherst Meadows in Massillon on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. She was born on September 27, 1916 to the late Ira and Hazel (Whitmer) Snyder. She was married to C. Vernon"Butch" Strecker until his passing in 1989. Zelma was known as "The Flower Lady" because she owned and operated GladS from Windswept and at one time had 30, 000 Gladiolas growing . She was a member of Myers United Church of Christ. Zelma is survived by her daughter Kay Ann Bohren of Lakeport Ca, Joy Lee Burgess of Sebring OH and Candi Strecker of San Francisco California; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. In accordance with Zelma's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interement will be private. Donations can be made in Zelma's memory Crossroads Hospice.
