Zelda K. Block-Dixon

April 7, 1952 — April 18, 2022

Zelda Block-Dixon age 70, a lifelong resident of Massillon went home willing to be present with the Lord. She was born on April 07, 1952 in Massillon to the late Edwin Lee Hye Sr. and the late Rosetta Marie Evans. She was a 1970 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. She worked at Perry Rubber and was later a Nurse’s Assistant. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, baking and was a caretaker. She loved her baby brother not only as a brother but even more so as a Pastor. She never knew what No was and was willing to help anyone. She was a special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister with an abundance of love for her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Zelda is survived by her sons Shawntez Block and Terrance W. Block I; her sister Gilda M.(John) Hampton; her brothers Edwin L. (Joyce) Hye Jr, Percival (Helen) Hye Sr., Clive A. Hye, Reginald J. (Lady Renee) Hye, Jesse (Diana) Evans and Gerald (Lillian) Evans; her special Uncle Horace Ward; grandchildren and great-grandchildren - Charday (LaDrekus)Buford, LaDrekus II, Adonis, Andrielle, T’Erika Mayes, Jaeleanyah, Kayden, Mckenzie, Terrance Willis Block, Camille Block and Kristy Burge, Aquyla McGhee and Saint Block: and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. In addition to her parents, Zelda was preceded in death by her brother Jackie (Brenda) Evans and her granddaughter Kashmere Cross. She was honored to be married to two wonderful men - her husband’s Joseph Willis Block and Jeff Dixon. A Homegoing Celebrations will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Bishop G.L. Evans II will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Massillon Cemetery.
