William Joseph Workman, 87, of Canton, passed away after an extended illness on March 24, 2025. He was born in Marmet, WV on December 2, 1937 to the late Andrew and Ardinia {Wells} Workman.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister Sadie Osborne and beloved parents-in-law Carl and Jennie Birone.
On April 23, 1960 he married MaryAnn {Birone} Workman. William is survived by his beloved wife MaryAnn, along with their daughters Jennie (Jarel) Carlson, Carla (Don) Taylor and Andrea (Mark) Bandi-Cain; grandchildren Joshua Taylor, Maria Carlson, William Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Jenna Crespo, Brad Cain and Nicholas (Courtney) Bandi; great-grandchildren Sophia Mendez, Joseph Mendez, Madalynn George, Jaxson Crespo, Elijah Cain, Amari Bandi, Hudson Cain, and two more on the way.
William was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, earning several medals for his service. After his honorable discharge, William began his career with the Timken Company, retiring after almost 40 years of service. William loved to be outdoors, listening to nature, music of all kinds, traveling, and above all else, being with his family.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE Massillon, OH 44646 on Friday, April 4th. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Father Tom Bishop officiating. Well deserved military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, where William will be laid to rest.
