William “Bill” Vasili Poulelis, age 88 of Massillon passed away on May 31, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1929 in Massillon to the late Paranchos and Marianthe (Kelekeis) Poulelis . He was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. He married Catherine McDonald on August 23, 1964 and they shared 44 years until her passing in 2008. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Republic Steel and Elum Music until his retirement. Bill was an avid Bowler, diehard New York Yankees and Cincinnati Bengals fan and he enjoyed drawing. Bill was known as a practical joker and for bantering with family and friends. Bill is survived by a son, Bill ; a daughter, Julie; his sister Georgia Ross; his brother Michael (Jean) Poulelis; his nephew and caretaker for the last 2 years Michael P. Poulelis, and Godson Thomas (Melanie) Ross; he was known as “Grandad Vasil” to Tammy, Steve, Danny, Barb, Sophia, Carissa and Dominic. He is also survived by a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother John and sister Diane Ifantiedes. Funeral Services will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday, June 04, 2018 at 11 a.m. Father Spiro Kehayes will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 10:15 a.m Interment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
