William "Pop" Hattery, 95, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born on May 14, 1919 in Cleveland to Pete and Bessie Hattery. Pop was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Faye and seven brothers and sisters. He leaves behind three children, Sandi (John) Brakus of Canton, Bud (Lori) Hattery of Navarre and Connie (David) Barnett of Massillon; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters. Pop was the custodian at Myers School for twenty three years and worked at Paquelet Funeral Home and Alices Restaurant in Navarre. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. He was one of the workman on the Hoover Dam Project. Pop was a member of Massillon Baptist Temple and served as head usher for a number of years. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00PM -4:00PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Paquelet Funeral Home, Pastor Cecil Thayer, officiating. Burial will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.
