William L. Jeffries

William L. Jeffries, age 75, of Massillon passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 after a couragous battle with cancer. Bill was born July 28, 1931 to the late James & Laura (Dills) Jeffries in Winfield, W.VA. He graduated from Lumberport High School in Lumberport, W.VA. In 1956 Bill married the love of his life, Shirley (Lang) Jeffries. Bill worked at the Timken Co. Gambrinus Plant as a machine operator & retired after forty years to the day of service. Bill served in the United States Army as a medic with the 5th Cavalry Regt. during the Korean War & was trained in chemical, biological & radiological defense in Japan. Bill & Shirley recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. He is also proceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Craig & Mary Cherry of Columbus. Survived by Spouse Shirley Jeffries of Massillon 1 daughter Betty & Randy Smith of Texas 2 grandchildren Hannah & Travis Smith of Texas 1 niece Donna & Mike Hanrahan of Columbus & a host of nieces, nephews & in-laws Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. on Monday evening at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials be made to Aultman Hospice. 2821 Woodlawn N.W.
