William E. Walker (Pete) age 72 of Newcomerstown, Ohio passed away May 11th of 2016. He was born to the late William (Billy) Walker & Aleatha Collins-Walker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Pete was an avid Bass fisherman, jazz enthusiast, animal lover, NASCAR fan and loved working on anything that had an engine. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an intelligent, kind-spirited man who never knew a stranger. His job history spanned across many years and included construction, painting, auto mechanic and handyman work. Pete was preceeded in death by his sister Margaret (Suzy) Walker and friend Willy Roberson and is survived by sisters Annetta (Sissy) Walker of Springfield, OH, Thelma (Feldon) Norwood of Canton, OH and Brother Sammy Driver of Massillon, OH. He is survived by his children Steven (Desiree) Walker of Akron, Kirsten (Rodney) Walker of Akron, Charles Pope of Massillon, Gerald (Jennifer) Pope of Massillon, Felicia (Jeffrey) Roberson of Canton and Aleatha (Ryan) Knight of Massillon. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and special friends Margaret Pope, Deion Norwood, Dennis Hughes, James "Butch" Massey. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. His final resting place will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
