William C. Hoffman aged 93, passed away November 10, 2019, after a brief illness. Bill was born in Orrville, Ohio and grew up in Massillon. He was a graduate of Massillon Washington High School and played coronet in the band. Bill was a proud WWII army veteran from 1944-1946. He was in the 7th Cavalry and was stationed in the Philippines where he earned a Bronze Battle Star. As a two-time graduate of Kent State University, earning his master’s degree in Education in 1955, he was a lifelong educator. He taught at Garfield Hts. High School, Cuyahoga Community College and was principal at the Cleveland State Hospital School. Bill retired as a guidance counselor from Brecksville Broadview Heights High School in 1988. Preceding him in death, are his parents, Glenn D. and Alice E. (Bupp) Hoffman, his sister Mary Alice Brugler, and his son, Scott W. Hoffman. Bill is survived by his wife, June (Farley) Hoffman, sister, Charlene (Hoffman) Whitman, daughters Linda (Don) Prosser, Diane (Ron) Walker, Peggy (Mills) Hoffman, and Lisa (Tom) Covington. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Donnie, Jill, Melanie, Michael, Katie, Bradley, Danielle, Missy, Mike, Haley, Alex, Donnie, Lily, Rylan, Jay, and Laynie. Services will be held at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, in Massillon on November 19th, 2019 at 12:00. Calling hours will be one hour preceding the service. Bill will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
