July 5, 1925 — November 4, 2015

William "Billie" Jenkins Jr., age 90 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015. William was born on July 5, 1925 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late William H. and Catherine (Arnold). He was raised in Flushing, Ohio and moved to North Lawrence at the age of 14. Bill was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. He served in WWII in the Navy as a Motorist Machinist 2nd class and received the American Area and Victory Medals. Bill worked for the Eaton Mfg. Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post #221. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing, watching the Buckeyes and the Tuslaw Mustangs. He taught everyone to never have regrets. Don't fret about the things that don't matter and LIVE! He always said "If I never live another day, I have LIVED." He also said "I know that I have been loved." To every one of his grandchildren he said "Hang tuff." He will always be remembered by the sparkle in his blue eyes and the smile he had for everyone. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James "Pups" Jenkins and his brother-in-law John Gotch. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou (Meeting) Jenkins, whom he married on June 21, 1952; his daughters, Shelley (Steve) Manley and Lori Jenkins; his grandchildren Molly (Jason) Flory, Shannon (Brent) Canfield, Adrianne (Chad) Flickinger, Ryan (Jennifer) Manley, and Travis (Stacy) Rossiter; his great grandchildren Isabella, Kaden and Maddison Canfield, Alexander and Samantha Flickinger, Harper Black and Aiden Manley; his sisters Joyce Gotch, Judy (Mel) Brillhart, Saundra (Barry) Cox, and Gale (Hank) Heuser; and his brother Larry "Hop" (Nancy) Jenkins. The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Tarr and her wonderful staff at Medcorp, Inc. and his favorite Visiting Nurse Wendy Most. The family would also like to thank the physicians and staff at Affinity Medical Center ER department for their compassion, support and care. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Brookfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
