William "Bill" Paulus

William "Bill" Paulus, 79 of Massillon, passed away peacefully August 1st, 2022 at Chapel Hill Community following a brief illness. Bill was born on July 20, 1943 in Massillon to Victor and Emily (Sandison). After graduating Jackson High School in 1961 he attended Kent State University graduating with a Bachelor's in Education. Mr. Paulus spent 33 years teaching History and Social Studies in the Plain Local School District. Bill's other joys came from working on his home, in his workshop, studying ocean liners, and collecting steamship memorabilia. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. His caring heart and love for history will live on through the lives of those whose paths he crossed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Charla (Kirk), daughter Carrie Paisley (Trevor), grandson Will Paisley, son Keith (Elisha Lampley), and cousins Ann Butler (Fred), Nancy Greenspan (Henry), Doug Paulus (Barb), and Susan Scott (Jeffery). Calling hours will be held at Central Presbyterian Church 47 Second ST NE, Massillon August 27th, 2022 from 10am to 12pm with a Memorial Service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, those that wish are encouraged to make a donation to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank or Central Presbyterian Church in Bill's honor.
