William Bill Marsh

May 22, 1938 — October 8, 2007

William “Bill” Marsh, age 69 passed away Monday, October 8, 2007 at Affinity-Doctors Medical Center after a short term illness. He was born on May 22, 1938 in Chattanooga, TN to Mack & Mabel Marsh. He moved to Akron, Ohio at an early age where he attended Howard High School. He served in the U.S. Army and returned to Akron and began employment at the Ford Motor Co. He moved to Massillon in 1968 where he met and married his wife of 36 years, Barbara Marsh. He was employed at Eaton Mfg for 12 years and Ecko Housewares for 20 years as a forklift operator. He retired in 2003. Bill was preceded in death by his stepfather James Suggs, daughters, Lattina Cheerice and Torria Rochelle. He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Barbara Marsh, daughters, Carolyn “Dodie” Holsey, Willene (Trinka) Safar, Francine (Charles, Jr.) Blackwell all of Akron, Ohio, sons, Richard (Jennifer) Crenshaw of Orlando, FL, Torey D. Marsh of Columbus, MO, a very special son whom he held close to his heart, Kevin Mitchell and his mother, Mabel Suggs of Akron. He also has 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and best friend, Gary Oden who was closer than a brother. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
