William "Bill" J. Mitzel

William “Bill” Mitzel, age 75 of North Canton, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on July 5, 2021. Bill was born on October 4, 1945 in Massillon, Ohio to Joseph and Hilda (Gray) Mitzel. He was an over the road truck driver most of his life. Bill enjoyed fishing, watching and collecting sports memorabilia. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his step-father, Jerry Griffiths. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, children, Jeff (Tina) Mitzel, Chris (Kim) Mitzel, Debbie Hurford, and Lisa Mitzel, brothers, Michael (Debbie) Scarberry, and Jim (Linda) Scarberry, mother-in-law, Evelyn Snyder, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude.
