William "Bill" H. Bess

William "Bill" H. Bess, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was born in Akron on October 17, 1936 to the late William N. and Ilo (Vaughn) Bess. He married Carol A. Spyker on September 15, 1956 and they shared nearly 60 years together until his passing. Bill worked as a Carpenter until his retirement. He and Carol were members of Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle since 1962. In his spare time Bill liked to hunt, fish and travel. Bill liked to share his testimony of faith with all. His love in life was his wife , children, grandchildren and his church family. In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his daughters; Cathi Dennis, Lori (Rev. Michael) Blankenship and Wendi (Michael) Williams; his grandchildren Jamie (Tim) Kelley, Jason (Melissa) Dennis, Emily (Joshua) Everage, Brandon Williams and Caleb Williams; his great grandchildren Isaiah Kelley, Irelynd Kelley, Ava Dennis; and great-granddaughter on the way Rachel Everage; his sisters Mary (Rev. D. Dale) Dickson, Martha (Dennis) Young and Linda (Rev. Joseph) Clark; his brother Robert (Betty) Bess as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. A worship service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, March 02, 2016 at 7p.m. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle, Pastor Nicholas Strange, Bishop Harold R. Strange and Reverend Michael G. Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery at 12 noon on Thursday, March 3, 2016 for family members only.
