William "Bill" Fritz, 90, of Massillon, Ohio passed away on June 12, 2024. He was born on October 25, 1933, in Perry Township, Ohio to the late Otto and Vera (Machan) Fritz.
Bill was lovingly referred to as "world famous" by his fellow crew members on the hydroplane racing circuit. He enjoyed building model boats and shipped them all across the world. Bill was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, he began driving for his brother Donald, at Fritz Trucking and continued his career with North Canton Transfer until his retirement in 1995. Bill was part of the crew that hauled the U-3 Unlimited Hydroplane owned by dear friends Ed and Barb Cooper. Prior to COVID, you could find Bill in the first booth on the right at Bob Evans in Massillon. He was a regular and was well known by the staff. Bill was a devoted and proud father and grandfather. He will be missed for his sense of humor and ability to make people smile.
In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia A. (Perrott) Fritz, and his four siblings.
Bill is survived by his children, Keelie (Robert) Mann, and Keri (Corby) Schuler; step-children, Lori (Chris) Cantrell, Vikki Angelo, Pam (Karl) Naumann, and Arthur Booth; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fritz; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Paquelet Funeral Home. His Funeral Ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Massillon Cemetery.
