William (Bill) Eugene Williams, 95, of Jackson Township, passed away on February 2, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Kay (Kerlin) Williams with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Bill was born on August 8, 1925 in Massillon City Hospital to the late Virginia Irene (Lutz) Williams and Vernon Leroy Williams. He graduated from Washington High School in 1943 where he had enlisted in the V-12 program with the US Navy. He continued his education at Case Western School of Applied Science where he graduated as an electrical engineer. He was called to active duty in the Navy as a trainee on the USS Montpelier and later as an executive officer and navigator on the LST-611 in the South Pacific. After leaving the Navy, he continued his career as an electrical engineer. This work included production design test equipment for the Rascal missile and the Subroc missile. His work took him to Milwaukee, WI, New York City, and Buffalo, NY, Freeport, IL, and Topeka, KS, as well as the countries of Venezuela, Luxembourg, Germany, Malaysia, and Turkey. He and his wife felt blessed that they were able to see many parts of the world that they had only read about. Bill retired from Goodyear International in 1989 and purchased a home in Jackson Township where he enjoyed gardening. There he planted over 100 beautiful azaleas, as well as many rose bushes, and trees. He also enjoyed playing tennis and was a long time member of the Branhaven Swim & Tennis Club. In addition to his wife, Kay, he is survived by his children, Robert (Beth) Williams of Canton, Susan Begue of Northfield,Karen Jackson, of Massillon, Terry Bardell and Philip Bardell of Illinois, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee Williams who died in 1942 in a tragic vehicle accident, and a son, William Bardell. A private service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
