William B. Ridgeway age 75 of Tuscarawas Twp. passed away July 23, 2006 at Massillon Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. Bill was born May 27, 1931 in Greenup, KY to the late Edward & Eva (Hewlett) Ridgeway and lived most of his life in the Massillon area. He served in the Navy for two years and four years in the Army with duty in Korea. Most of his work experience was in the construction trades. For most of his life he was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle. For 26 years he was an active member and sponsor of A.A.; and had memberships in American Legion Post #221 and the VFW. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Eva Ridgeway in 1986, a daughter Della Poling in 2003, step-mother, Zelma Ridgeway and a brother Raymond. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Neil (Cindy) Ridgeway of Loudonville, Shirlene (Harold) Waldrep with whom he resided, Beverly (Phil) Smith of Canton, Sheila (Steve) Horne of TX, Anita (Jim) Dennis of Canton, Dave (son in Law) Poling of Navarre and Sandy (Ed) Reed of Canton. Brothers & Sisters: Anne, Opal, Linda, Janet, Nancy, Robert, Richard, and James Ridgeway who lives in Massillon. His fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren will especially miss their ‘Grandpa & Popoo’, who loved them very much. A Homegoing Celebration of Bill’s life will be 11 AM Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, his pastor Rev. Harold R. Strange will officiate.
