William A. Bayda

William A. Bayda, age 75 of Canton, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011. William was born on August 13, 1935 in Canton, the son of the late Anthony and Barbara (Mulig) Bayda. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Syler), whom he married on August 12, 1961. William was a lifelong resident of Canton and a 1953 graduate of McKinley High School. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Akron. William served in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanical engineer for the Timken Co., retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service. Bill was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Canton. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by 4 sons, Kenneth (Michelle), Michael (Mary Beth), Douglas (Beth), and Steven Bayda; 7 grandchildren, Anthony, Caitlin, Laura, Madeline, Nicholas, Michael D., and Nathan Bayda; 1 great-grandchild, Allianna Bayda; and 2 sisters, Mildred Bayda and Donna (James) Close. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Cline, officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
