Willard C. Hattery, 92, formerly of Massillon, went home to be with Jesus on December 17, 2013 in Westland, Michigan. He was born in Massillon on September 9, 1921, and was a 1941 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. He is survived by his daughter Amy Ruark and son-in-law, Mark, of Westland, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellamary, brothers Robert and Raymond Hattery, sisters Marjorie Millard, Marion Dettweiler, and Catherine Minor, and his parents John and Sadie Hattery. Willard was a World War II Army Air Force veteran from which he sustained his permanent disability. He was an accountant who attended Canton Actual Business College. He worked for Packard Corp., Stark Poster Service, and MH Martin Company before retiring from REO Industries in 1979. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Massillon before moving to Michigan where he attended First Baptist Church of Plymouth and Lifechurch of Canton. Calling hours will be held on Friday 4-8 pm at Paquelet & Arnold Lynch Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Massillon with calling hours one hours one hour before the service. Burial following at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
