Wayne W. Arnold, age 90 of Massillon, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio. He was born in Dalton, Ohio on April 12, 1918 and was the son of the late Clayton & Nora (Leisy) Arnold. Upon graduation from Washington High School in 1936 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He graduated from the former Cleveland College of Embalming and joined his father in the business that he founded, the C.L. Arnold Funeral Home, later becoming the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 68 years. Wayne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, his other memberships included the Clinton Lodge #47 F.& A.M. for over 60 years, the Hiram Chapter, Massillon Commandery, the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland, Ohio, the Massillon Shrine Club where he was a past president and the Massillon Oaks Club. He was the last living charter member of the Massillon Lions Club. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lois M. (Wolf) Arnold who died exactly 2 years before him and his brother Evan “Bud” Arnold. He is survived by his son and daughter in law Wynn and Susan Arnold of Melbourne, FL and son Neil L. Arnold of Massillon. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Brigham officiating. Burial will follow in Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. The Clinton Lodge will hold a Masonic service at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday.
