Wayne P. Fisher

Wayne P. Fisher, 77 of Massillon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday April 22, 2012 in his home surround by his family. He was born in Massillon on October 2, 1934 to the late Clifford E. & Dolores L Smith Fisher. Wayne was employed by Corundrite Refractories retiring in February 2001 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Beach City Bible Methodis Churcht. He served as an usher at church and had also served 3 terms as president and 4 terms as secretary of Local 453, Aluminum, Brick & Clay Workers Union. He enjoyed reading and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his wife to the Great Smokey Mountains and state parks. He enjoyed drag racing and had won many trophies. He is survived by his: loving wife, Betty Smith Fisher, whom he married on March 6, 1954, two daughters; Vicki L. Parr and fiancé Tom Fellabom of Canton, Cindy J. Horne of Dover, two sons; John E. (Mary) Fisher of Massillon, Todd A. (Tammi) Fisher of Canton, twelve grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Sally Zimmerman of Florida, Linda Green of Massillon, brother-in-law , Tim (Cathy) Erdely of Massillon, two sisters-in-law, Rose Smith of Massillon, Lynette Smith of Canton and his beloved pet cat, Chuck. He was preceded in death by his: brother, Clifford E. Fisher, Jr. and his beloved cat Muffy. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon on Wednesday April 25, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday April 26, 2012 at 10:00AM, burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery, Rev. Monte Stettler, Officiant.
