Wayne "Bud" Leroy Smith

Wayne “Bud” Smith, age 74 of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on September 10, 2020 in Canton. Bud was born on February 28, 1946 in Canton to Wayne and Blanche (Konen) Smith. He graduated from Jackson High School and served four years in the US Army. Bud spent most of his life working as a handyman doing landscaping, maintenance, and heating and cooling. He was a volunteer fireman for both the Jackson Township and Avondale Fire Departments in Canton. His last job was a press operator at Victory One Performance in Mooresville, NC. Bud was a huge NASCAR fan, he enjoyed fishing, and loved spending time with his friends and family. Bud is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patty Burger and Carol Brandes, niece, Tina Scheetz, and grandson, Clark Monigold, II. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Dawn) Smith and Ken (Stephanie) Smith, grandchildren, Amanda (Branden) Houshoulder, Khristy (Jon Swiger) Monigold, Joseph Monigold, Madison Smith, and Savannah Smith, sister, Ruth “Babe” (Richard) Scheetz, nieces, Kris (Dan) Hershberger and Melanie (Lance) Strang, and Marie (Don) Fletcher, and nephew, Bill (Joey) Burger, ten great grandchildren, and friend and caregivers, Mark (Susie) Esway. A private family burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Thursday, September 24, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
