Wanda Harriet (Sturiale) Thompson, age 88 of Massillon, died on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Aultman Hospital. She was born on August 18, 1921 in Ozark, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Harry and Mattie May (McKelvey) Brown. Wanda graduated from Beallsville High School in 1940 and the Massillon Commercial Institute. She worked for the Timken Company and the U.S. Government, but retired from LTV Steel after a 32 year career. She was secretary to the Traffic Manager. She was a member of the Delta Tau Sorority and Grace United Church of Christ. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sturiale and her sisters Roberta Elliott and Thelma Gum and their husbands Glenn Elliott and Paul Gum. She is survived by her husband, Howard B. Thompson, her son and daughter-in-law Gregory (Susan) McInnes of Massillon, her grandchildren, Alex and Eric McInnes, her stepsons, Bruce Thompson and James Thompson and 5 step grandchildren. Also surviving are her niece Joni LeBeau and her husband Steven. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour before the service.
