Walter E. Ward, 85, of Canton, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on February 25, 1933 to the late Edward and Dorothy (Heaston) Ward. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the military, he married Margaret Domonkos on September 14, 1957. They shared 60 loving years together before her passing on September 28, 2017. Walt was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and previously worked as an electrician for Fresh Mark where he had over 30 years of service before retiring. In his spare time, Walt loved spending time with his family; He enjoyed travelling and deep sea fishing with his son-in-law and grandsons. Walt will be deeply missed by his daughters Pam (Dale) Rutar, Kim (Karl) Roshong and Lisa (James) George; grandchildren Stephanie (Ryan) Lanier, Kelly Trnian, Sgt. James (Brazilia) George, Karl (fiancé Brooke Mayhew) Roshong Jr., and Kraig Roshong; great-grandchildren Phoebe Lanier, Caleb Lanier, Madelyn Lanier, Eli George, Mia George and Scotty George. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 15th from 3-5 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 16th, at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc and burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
