Wade Hofacre, age 88, of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at home. He was born on October 3, 1927, on a farm in West Lebanon, youngest son of the late Kelsie and Loretta Hofacre. Wade served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and in the Navy Reserves. He worked as a conductor for Nickel Plate Railroad and Norfolk and Western for forty years. He was a lifetime member of Amvets, Eagles and Elks. Wade was an amazing gardener of both delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. Wade is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Rose Marie. He is also survived by his daughter, Loretta Raduege, son, Gregory (Bettina) Hofacre, granddaughters, Heidi Raduege, Holly Raduege, and Alise Hofacre, and grandsons, Sergio and Matthew Matias. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Heartfelt thanks to caregivers, Tracy, Chuckie, and Katrina. Special thanks to longtime friend, Edra Yoder. Thanks also to Crossroads Hospice Care for their care and guidance. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 10 at Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00am, Fr. Raymond Paul, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon.
