Virginia R. Loomis

Virginia R. Loomis, age 79 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her residence. She was born on July 8, 1928 in Massillon to the late Nickolas and Anna Volk. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Massillon. Virginia worked for Superior Meats for 30 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets Post 6 in Massillon. She enjoyed bowling, watching horse races and more than anything spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Nick, Dick, George and Dennis and her sisters; Ann, Sylvia, Helen and Ester. She is survived by her husband, Bruce R. Loomis of 49 years of marriage, her son, Rick (Jennifer) Loomis of Malvern, her grandchildren, Samantha, Mitchell, and Sara, her brother, Dan (Ruby) Volk of MS and her sister Mary (Bill) Battaglia of, MI. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 11 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. Her pastor, Fr.
