Virginia H. Ewing

Virginia H. (Dolvin) Ewing, 97 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. She was born on August 2, 1919 in New Cumberland, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Paul and Delores (Strawn) Dolvin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ewing, her son James E. Ewing, her son-in-law, James R. Foley and her sisters, Wanda Cheslock and Helen Ewing. She and her husband were active members of Wesley United Methodist Church until its closing. She then became a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Alyce Foley, her grandchildren, Colleen (Saul) Arkwright, Eric (Laura) Ewing, Melissa (Matt) Jacob and Jason Ewing and great grandchildren, Jared, Aidan, Olivia, Logan and Maggie. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Julia Wertz officiating. Burial will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery in New Cumberland, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10-11 a.m. The family would like to thank Meadow Wind Health Care Center for the care and compassion that they gave to Virginia for almost 2 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Virginia's name to First United Methodist Church.
