Virginia ‘Faye’ Hardy Hawksworth, age 84, of Massillon passed away on December 17, 2010 in Florida. She was born September 28, 1926 in Bridgeport, OH to the late Albert & Lola (Drake) Kamphus. She moved to Massillon in 1931. In 1986 she retired from the Apple Creek Developmental Center. She enjoyed bowling and traveling as well as participating in numerous social clubs. She enjoyed making candy and baking. She was especially famous for her pumpkin rolls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 32 years, George T. Hardy (1977); a sister, Janis Byerly; and three brothers: Dale Russell, Ray Russell , and John Kamphus. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, James H. Hawksworth of Massillon; four children: Lola (Bob) Frechette of Gilford, NH; Mary (Roger) Cranor of Rifle, CO; Dale (James) Tipton of Stone Creek, OH; William (Kay) Hardy of Canton, and a sister, Leah Patterson of Navarre. There are 9 Grandchildren: Darrin, Don, Melissa, Tom, Brian, Rich, Khrystie, Amanda, and Ryan, as well as 11 Great Grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Monday December 27, 2010 at 5:30 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Dennis Engler officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4pm until the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer or Hospice Foundation of your choice.
