Virginia E. Roth

February 24, 1934 — March 5, 2021

Virginia Elizabeth Roth, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021, after an apparent heart attack. Ginny was born in Canton, Ohio, on February 24, 1934, the daughter of Filomena (Meola) and Filippo Paoletto. After graduating from Timken Vocational High School she worked at Roth Drugs where she met the love of her life, Edward J. Roth, Jr., whom she married on October 6, 1955.They raised two sons, Edward III and James, in Perry Township. Over the years, she worked tirelessly at M. O’Neil Company, May Company and Kauffmann’s, in retail sales of Clinique and Estee Lauder cosmetics. After retirement, she went back to work again at Altercare Navarre assisting with resident recreation. Ginny loved music. She sang classics to her family and lullabies to her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her voice lead her to join a community choir, where she sang onstage at the Canton Palace Theater and Akron Civic Theater. A true animal lover, Ginny raised many dogs over the years, enjoying long walks at Petros Park with her furry friends. She spent vacations at lakeshores in Canada and beaches in South Carolina. At family events, she was the light and laugh of the party, a bright heart of funny quips and joy. Ginny devoted her love and attention to her grandchildren, and they are grateful for the love and laughter she shone on them. Her life was full of God, family, friends, dog treats and funny storytelling. Ginny made long-lasting relationships with neighbors, co-workers and fellow singers. She cooked wonderful meals like green bean casseroles, lasagna and chicken noodle soup for her family and friends. There was always a cold beer in her refrigerator for any guest. Ginny is survived by her sons Jim (Julie) and Ed (Terri); her grandchildren: Jackie (Ryan), Marie (Ryan), Eddie (Celia), Elizabeth (Adam), Tommy, James, Teresa Rose and Joe; her great-grandchildren: Cassie, Ben, Abbie, Lucy and Maggie; many nieces, nephews and special friends; and her dog Max. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 9 siblings; and dear family friend Father John Turk. A mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Edward Gretchko on Saturday, March 13th, at 11:00 am, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon. The family will be available in the church one hour before to greet and visit with guests. Continuing with Covid-19 precautions, all attending must follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required. If you are not feeling well or have a compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home. Messages of condolence can be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com. The family gives special thanks to the staff of Visiting Angels for providing compassionate care so Ginny could to continue to live in the home she loved and cherished.
