Virginia Bryan, age 94 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, at Rose Lane Medical Center. Virginia was born on June 14, 1917 on a farm in Maryland to Charles and Ida (Koury) Bryan. She attended and graduated from St. Mary High School. Many people will remember her from the “Sugar Bowl” where she worked for many years. She is a life time member of St. Joseph Church and a lover of Massillon football. She loved her family and enjoyed many family reunions. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Chester, Richard and John. Virginia is survived by two sisters, Florence Lannen and Rosemary (Steve) Wigginton; brothers, Charles and James “Jim” (Sally) Bryan; sister-in-law, Janice Bryan and many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with her pastor, Fr. Raymond Paul officiating. Her final resting place will be St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A special thanks to Smiley at Smiley’s Restaurant and his staff for the kindness and respect they have always shown Virginia over the years. Rose Lane Springer Health Care Center is to be commended for their caring and comfort they have shown Virginia.
