Virgil V. Diana, age 85 of Massillon, died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 30, 1919 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of the late Anthony & Lenore (Pearson) Diana. He was the co-owner A.J. Diana & Sons, Inc. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army/Air Force. He was a 1938 graduate of Jackson High School. His memberships included, the American Legion Post 221, the Clinton Lodge F. & A. M., where he was past master, District Deputy and Division Commander, the Past Master of the Massillon Commandery #4-Knights Templar and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. His family, his work and his friends were what made him happy and he will be dearly missed by all. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Steiner and brothers, Duane Diana and Gene Diana. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Olive J. (Jones) Diana whom he married on June 21, 1941, one brother and sister in law, Gerald (Betty Jo) Diana, his sons and daughter in laws, Charles & Jeanette Diana of Canal Fulton, Timothy & Kathy Diana of Massillon and Virgil “Bud” & Sherrie Diana of Massillon, his grandchildren, Andrea, Michael (Sherry), Tyler, Vincent & Brandon, three step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law and special friends Elizabeth Diana and Tom Kraft. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31st at 11:00 AM at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lalama and Rev. Ralph Edwards officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. The Clinton Lodge will hold services at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNS Hospice and Palliative Care Services of Stark County or the charity of your choice.
