Viorel Boanta

Viorel Boanta, 62, of Perry Township, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Viorel was born on March 5, 1960 in Victoria, Romania, the son of the late Viorel Sr. and Anna Boanta. Viorel was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He built a cabin in Salt Fork Lake where he would spend time enjoying nature. Viorel also enjoyed gardening, pickling and cooking. He supported his family and would do anything he could to help his children. Viorel was a very giving man in helping his friends in any way he could. He could fix just about anything, and gave advice to anyone who asked for help.

He is survived by his wife, Olimpia Boanta with whom he shared 39 years of marriage; his children, Diana Boanta, and Silviu Boanta; and sisters, Vickie Wood, and Doina Stoica.

The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4-6 pm and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Celebration of Viorel's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
