Viola James, 65 of Massillon, went home to her Lord, Monday, August 8, 2016. Viola was born on February 10, 1951 in Thomasville, Alabama. She moved here to Massillon in 1968 and graduated from Washington High School, and Barak Christian Life School with a Doctorate in Theology. Viola retired from Apple Creek as a Nurse's Aide. She loved Jesus, her family and everyone she encountered. Viola was a member of Word of Liberty Christian Center for 36 years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Albert "Barney" Robinson, her sisters, Rosie "Peggy" Danzy and Dosha Shirley Danzy and her uncle, Curry Danzy. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Lisbon "Bud" James whom she married on July 5, 2009; children, Veronica Bennu, Aaron (Melanie) Robinson, and Alexander Robinson; grandchildren, Akil, Jabari, Khalfan, and Khari Lindsay; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Danzy, Beatrice George, Samuel George, Bessie (Danny) Hollandsworth, and Charles (Trina) Danzy; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 12 p.m. (NOON) at Word of Liberty Christian Center: 649 Young Street S.E. in Massillon. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Word of Liberty Christian Center to support the work that was most dear to Viola's heart.
