Vincent Paul Define

October 14, 1924 — February 2, 2006

Vincent Paul Define, age 81 of Richville passed away February 2nd from an extended illness. Vinny was born in Navarre on October 14, 1924 to the late John B. & Mary B. (Holman) Define Sr. He graduated from Navarre High School where he served as a class president in 1942. He was a WWII veteran who served in the 8th armored division of the U.S. Army and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He also proudly played his saxophone in the U.S. Army Band. After his service, Vinny's love of music was fulfilled in his band, Vinny and his Swingsters a well known local band of the 1940's. Vinny married the love of his life, Phyllis Camarata on December 31st 1949 (New Years Eve). He came out of retirement to play in the Navarre Bicentennial Parade. He was employed by the Eaton Corp. for 42yrs. and retired in October of 1986. He was a member of the VFW post #5047, and St. Clement's Catholic Church. Vinny was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was called Uncle Vinny by many who knew and loved him. He will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Isabell Piper & Orletta Pyle. One brother, William F. Define. He is survived by Wife Phyllis (Camarata) Define of Richville 1 son Gary Paul (Patricia Kay) Define of Perry Twp. 1 daughter Linda Ann Define of Green 2 brothers John (Mary) Define Jr. of Navarre Robert (Marilyn) Define of Canton 3 sisters Lucille Bechtel of Navarre Donna Agler of Navarre Mary Lou (Jim) McCreery of Beach City Sister-in-law Josephine Aiello of Louisville Brother-in-law Joseph (Joann) Camarata of Massillon 2 grandchildren Gary Paul (Kari) Define II of Perry Twp. Meshawn Lee Miller of Perry Twp. 2 Great Grandchildren Jossalyn, and Gary Define III of Perry Twp. numerous nieces & nephews There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Clements Catholic Church. Friends may call from 1-5 P.M. on Sunday and from 9-10:45 A.M on Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Navarre. Fr. Robert Gibas will officiate. The burial will take place at East Union Lawn Cemetery.
