Vincent G. Hammer age 85 of Massillon passed away Friday September 8, 2006 at his residence. Vincent was born June 8, 1921 in Massillon to the late Victor & Eleanor (Garver) Hammer. During World War II he served in the Pacific with the Army Air Corp Engineers. He was employed by Grissom-Russell and retired from Irwin Steel. After retiring to his farm, he raised cattle and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Natalie Ann, son in law David Feather, five sisters and two brothers: Esther, Grace, Mildred, Mary, Catherine, Sylvester and Leo. He is survived by wife Jean (Packer) Hammer with whom he would have shared 63 years of marriage on November 23rd. Five Children and spouses: Kathy Feather, Gwen (Terry) Hemperly, Vicki Lupsor, Jeannie (Jim) Bullock, and Kim (Steve) Crescenze. Grandchildren: Monica Kring, Mark Feather, Brian Hemperly, Amy Hemperly, Kara Hemperly, Katie (Chris) McNeil, Marisa Lupsor, Andrew Lupsor, Andrea Bullock, Abby Bullock, Natalie Crescenze & Sam Crescenze. And twin great grandsons, Adam and Nathan Kring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Barbara’s Memorial Fund.
