Vermell F. Roberson, 77, of Massillon, went to home to Glory on December 7, 2024.
She was born on August 4, 1947 to the late Frederick and Vermell (Rivers) Winston in Cleveland, OH.
She was a graduate of John Adams High School, Cleveland, OH and attended Stark State Technical College and Cleveland State University. Vermell retired from Heinz Frozen Foods after 36 years of service. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Canton Urban League, Massillon Chapter of N.A.A.C.P. Vermell had a love of singing and had been a part of Canton Urban League Choir, The Rose of Sharon Community Choir, Friendship Baptist Church Choir, Antioch Baptist Church Choir and Shiloh Baptist Church Choir. She also had a love bowling, reading , and writing. She had several poems published.
Vermell is survived by her loving son, Anthony E. Roberson; seven grandchildren, Steven, Britney, Anekka, Michael, Stefvon, Alana and Nyema; six great-grandchildren, Za'riyah, Zae'meir, Zayden, Zalayah, and Myra; daughter-in-law, Linda Kelly, siblings, Virginia Lewis and Frederick R. Winston; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven L. Roberson; and a great-grandson, Zaine.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church with a Home Going Celebration to start at 11:00 am, with, Rev. Anthony Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens .
