Velma May "Susie" Smith

Velma May "Susie" Smith, 90 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Susie was born on July 25, 1925 in Massillon the daughter of the late Martin and Adeline (McInnes) Andrews. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Susie retired from Babcock and Wilcox. Throughout her life she was known as a very talented artist and has two pictures hanging in the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Susie was very generous and donated to many charitable organizations. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Mays and Pauline Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Susie's life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
