Vaughn E. Mohler III, age 42 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 03, 2021. He was born on July 30, 1978 to Vaughn and Dianna (Strong) Mohler. He was a 1996 graduate of Massillon Washington High School where he played both football and baseball. He was a proud Massillon Tiger and had an accomplished career as a Wide Receiver and Long Snapper. One of his fondest memories was playing in The 100th Game between Massillon and McKinley, during which he caught a touchdown. Vaughn worked as a Project Manager for HRN Construction and Restoration. Vaughn also gave back to the community as a Construction Trades Teacher for his Alma Mater where he inspired and mentored countless students. He coached football and baseball for Massillon Schools. Vaughn was a talented Master Carpenter, who enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and working alongside his children Ashley and Drew in their workshop. He prized his 1990 Foxbody Mustang and he took pride in rebuilding the car from the ground up with his father and son. Vaughn loved country music, his dogs, trips to the cabin with his childhood friends, camping, and playing golf. He was a life-long Ohio sports fan, but had recently become a Detroit Tigers fan, in support of his brother-in-law. Vaughn had a number of friends in his life who he considered family. He was a child at heart and had a talent for making everyone laugh. He is survived by his children, Ashley Alexander, Drew Mohler and Maxwell Mohler; his stepdaughter Hayven Keim; his grandchildren Nova and Knox Miller; his parents Vaughn and Dianna Mohler; his sister Tonya Heyman; his niece Kenzleigh Heyman; his fiancé Lindsay Dingler and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
