Vashti Stephenson

Vashti Stephenson, age 74, of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15,2009. She was a dedicated member of the Massillon Baptist Temple. Prior to her years at MBT, she was a primary Sunday school teacher. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Donald, who passed away in 1999. She is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter Trenda and son Michael (Barb) of Massillon; grandson Troy, granddaughters Amanda and Jenna; great-grandsons Kadin and Richie; and special nieces who were like her daughters, Vicki, Debbie, and Lori. She is also survived by one sister, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Vashti was a very loving, kind-hearted, and compassionate person. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. No matter what adversity; she faced it with strength, courage, and laughter. She lived for her family, always had a smile on her face, and will be deeply missed. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Memorials may be made to the family or to the Massillon Baptist Temple.
