V. Ruth Kannel

V. Ruth Kannel, 97, passed away on October 18, 2017, following a brief illness. She was born in Peninsula on February 10, 1920 to the late Henry and Catherine (Steele) Wurzbacher. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Massillon. She worked for Massillon Savings and Loan, retired from The State of Ohio Unemployment Office in 1990. She was dedicated to her family and loved to knit and play cards. Ruth is survived by her children, Susan (Anne) Kannel of Denver, CO and William (Sharon) Kannel of Canton; four grandchildren, Brian (Amanda), Christine (Michael), Lynn and Erin (Mike); seven great-grandchildren; and a brother Frank Wurzbacher. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William E. Kannel in 1992; three brothers and four sisters. The family will gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home from 10AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 until a Funeral Service to be held at 11AM, burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
