Tony Barkey 23, of Canal Fulton passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 24th. God of power and mercy, you have made death itself the gateway to eternal life. Look with love and mercy on your servant Tony and make him one with your Son in his sufferings and death, that sealed with the blood of Christ, he may enter into eternal life with you forever. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Margaret Blake and Tony and Gert Barkey and his brother Michael Barkey who was killed in Iraq in service to his country on July 7, 2004. He is survived by his loving family, parents, Hal and Julie (Blake) Barkey, sisters and brothers in laws, Jennifer and Virente Sanchez, Therese and Tom Visner, brothers and sisters in laws, Todd and Tina Barkey and John and Kari Barkey, his 10 nieces and nephews including his "very best buddy", Savannah Visner, his many aunts and uncles, cousins and many amazing friends. Tony never met a stranger. He had more friends than anyone we have ever known and he had a nickname for most of them. His big smile matched his big size and big heart. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a wonderful person who made a difference in many lives and was greatly loved by all who knew him. He was employed by UPS Freight in Richfield as a dockworker/truck driver. He was a member of The Northwest 2007 Division lll AP Poll State Champion HS football team and The Skip a Beat flag football state of Ohio 2010 Championship Team. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 29th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Arnold Lynch Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at Ss. Philip and James Church in Canal Fulton on Thursday, August 30th, 2012 with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey as celebrant. Everyone will meet at the church. Interment will be in Ss. Philip and James Cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent and in lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Tony's name to the Chad Crawford Benefit Fund at any Charter One Location.
