Tony E. Burdette, Sr., age 72 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 20, 1939 in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of the late Fred and Corena (Marshall) Burdette. In 1995, Tony retired from SBC telephone company after 35 years of service. He loved his family and was an antique car enthusiast. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Paul and his sisters, Norma and Maureen. He is survived by his wife, Penny E. Burdette, his children and their spouses, Tony E. (Denise) Burdette, Jr., Thomas E. Burdette, Tamie E. (Chuck) Wilson and Timothy E. (Colleen) Burdette, his stepsons, Shane (Tina) Vaught and Todd Vaught, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his sister, Phyllis (Richard) McClain. A service to celebrate the life of Tony Burdette, Sr. will take place on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor George Stitz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 P.M.
