Tonita Marie Flowers was born to the union of Owen and Phyllis Flowers on January 24, 1968, in Detroit, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her father Owen, sister Naomi Flowers, brother Daniel (Cabb) Flowers, and nephew Michael Dawson. Tonita was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Massillon Public Schools. Tonita was high-spirited and fun-loving. Her greatest accomplishments she would tell you was being a mother to Quez and Shon, who she loved with her entire being and always referred to as her “babies.” After leaving high school, Tonita would receive her GED and begin working in various capacities of customer service, finally settling on a position with The Time Warner Cable company as a customer service representative. She remained with the company for more than 15 years until her health made it a challenge. In June, 2019, she received her certification as a Google Specialist. Tonita was the life of any party. She has a tenacious laugh and infectious smile that could light up the darkest room. She had a deep love for her family and loved to share in gatherings with them. No matter the occasion, she was seldom without her right hand and best friend, Tamika Rogers. Through good times and bad the group that made up the two of them with their little sisters Kim and Hassina (Soni) were inseparable. Her love was equally distributed to her grandchildren as well. She loved them all. Tonita received her wings and went on to glory on February 24, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memories, her two sons: DeMarquez Boles (Rhonda) and Dometrious D. Boles; her loving mother, Phyllis Flowers; two sisters: Malinda Williams (Anthony) and Kimberly Flowers; 12 grandchildren: Damario, Amelia, Brooklyn, Jaden, Davina, Uriah, Kaylnn, JaNiyah, DeMarquez II, Hassoni; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, other family members and friends. Celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 7, 2020, in the Paquelet Funeral Home. Calling hours will be from 10-11am prior to the service on Saturday.
