Timothy "Tim" Groff, age 66 passed away surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born in Massillon, October 14, 1946 to Ray and Myrle Jean Groff. He attended Washington High School. He married Roberta "Bobbie" Hug on March 17, 1967 and have spent 46 wonderful years together, recently renewing their wedding vows. Tim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 7 years including 2 tours in Vietnam, as well as 15 years in the National Guard. He worked as an Operations Manager at Indian River School retiring in 2009 after 21 years of service. Tim loved the outdoors and spending them with his family at Seneca Lake on his pontoon boat, his wave runner and teaching his family to water ski. He was an avid sports fan, going to his grandchildren's sporting events. He was always their No. 1 fan. He will forever be remembered as a fun loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his children Darin (Lori) Groff and Tracy (Stephanie) Groff; his grandchildren, Lilly, Hannah, Dawson and Lucas; his brothers Roger (Bonnie) Groff and Rick (Debbie) Groff; his sister-in-law Mary Jo (Joe) Manwaring; mother-in-law Mary Hug as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Robert Hug. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Barbara's Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11 A.M., Father Thomas Cebula and Father Brian Cline officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 P.M. on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittmanat , Ohio at 2P.M.
