Timothy James Bachtel, 53, of Massillon passed away on Saturday July 25, 2009 while vacationing in Maui after a courageous battle with cancer. Tim was born in Massillon January 13, 1956 the son of the late Russell P. and Betty Bachtel. Tim is survived by his wife Patricia A. (McNabb) Bachtel; brother Edwin (Murial) Bachtel of Massillon; brother-in-law William (Myla) McNabb of Maui; sisters-in-law Jane (Mike) Woods of North Carolina, Janet (Richard) Linthicum of Missouri, Karen Hallett of Massillon, and Debbie (Karl) Spinden of Sugarcreek; nephews Brian (Jackie) Bachtel of Massillon, Christopher (Carmen) Hallett of Massillon, and Jayson Hallett Sr. of Massillon; nieces Brenda (Rick) Wion of Massillon, Tammie Doerler of Florida, Staci (Kevin) Stutzman of New Philadelphia, Christine Jones of Missouri, Rose (Jean-Pierre) Sainard, Daniel Bachtel, Elizabeth Bachtel and David Bachtel all of North Carolina; great- nephews Devon and Dustin Jones of Missouri, Jamison Schneider and Samuel Wion of Massillon, Mason and Gunner Stutzman of New Philadelphia, Leo Doerler of Florida, Vincent McNabb of Maui, Christopher Hallett, Garrett Bachtel, and Jayson Hallett Jr. all of Massillon; great-nieces Stephanie Schneider, and Gabrielle Bachtel both of Massillon, and Zalia Bachtel of Hawaii. Along with his parents Tim was preceded in death by one brother Douglas Bachtel. Tim graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1974 and from the United Electronics Institute. He was previously employed at Musair Inc., WES Sound, and Arthur Middleton. Tim enjoyed watching the Massillon Tigers sports, Ohio State, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially Ron and Char Thornberry, Mike and Barb Stephenson, and Tim and Donna Charlton. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with additional visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
