Tim M. (Obie) O’Brien, age 66, of Canton passed away May 8, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic after a short illness. He was born June 24, 1940 in Louisville to Raymond & Florence (Castner) O’Brien and graduated in 1958 from Louisville High School. After high school, Tim served in the Army Reserves for six years. In addition, Tim managed the Gray Drug Store in downtown Canton, and several locations in Akron for 20+ years. He then retired from Kaiser Co. in 2003. Tim was typical of his Irish heritage; he was a loyal son, father, grandfather, companion and friend. Tim had a talent for woodworking, refurbishing, and tinkering around the house. Spending special time with family and friends, especially his grandbabies were upper most in his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond (1979) and his brother, Larry O’Brien in November 2006. He is survived by two daughters and sons in law: Kelly (John) Marenkovic of Hubbard and Shelly (Randy) Roberts of Cuyahoga Falls. His loving companion of seventeen years, Arlene Guynn of the residence; Arlene’s children: Marne (Rob) Maylor of Massillon & Mark (Carly) Schontz of Durham, NC. His mother, Florence O’Brien of Louisville, a brother, Jim (Doris) O’Brien of Louisville and sister-in law, Eileen O’Brien of Canton. Grandchildren: Johnny, Sidney, Randy, Riley, Taylor, Garrett, Anthony, Andrew. Best friend, Charlie Park of Canton. His family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 P.M. till 7 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. At 7 PM there will be a time of sharing, remembering and support.
