Thomas W. Craigo, age 84 of Perry Township, died on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 2, 1925 and was an area resident for most of his life. Tom was a decorated World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He survived when his ship, the USS Hazelwood was attacked by Kamikaze pilots in Okinawa, Japan. He was a founding member of the Reedurban Volunteer Fire Department. He loved long drives and traveling to Amish country. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley B. Craigo and his grandson, Stephan L. Depew. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Nancy and Lynn Brooks of Perry Township, Candy and Mark Dickerhoof of Massillon, Tara and Mark Depew of Jackson Township and Scott and Tracy Craigo of Canton Township. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Erin (Lee) Nelmes, Geoff (Heather) Brooks and Megan Brooks, Greg, Doug and Dirk Dickerhoof and Emily Depew his great granddaughter, Alexa Brooks and his special friend, Wilma Husted. A service to celebrate the life of Thomas Craigo will take place on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio with Pastors, Mike Husted, Jeff Shultz and Hal Oswald officiating. Interment will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday (TONIGHT) from 5-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 12:30- 1:30 P.M.
