Thomas "Tom " W. Bracken, aged 60 passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2011. He was born on May 31, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois to the late R. F. Bracken and Mary Marjorie Stewart Bracken. He married Margie Halhai on July 13, 1979 and she survives him. Tom was a journeyman roofer for 40 years. He was known for his artistic abilities being able to draw, paint and was known as a passionate wood carver of canes. He was also a collector of die cast model cars. Most importantly Tom was a dedicated family man, a loving grandfather. He will be especially missed by his 2 canine companions Rosco and Peanut. In addition to his wife he is survived by his 2 children, Stacy and Nicholas, 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Drew, a brother Dale and his wife Angie of Peoria, Ill, 2 sisters Marjorie Hymbaugh, and Spring K. Swogger both of Canton, He is also survived by numerous nieces, a nephew a great niece and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Graden, and one brother Bill Bracken. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Reverend William B. Kraynak, officiating. Family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service. Tom believed in the circle of life and he did that by being an organ donor.
