Thomas A. Phipps, 62, of Massillon, passed away on March 6, 2021. He was born on November 15, 1958 in Orrville, Ohio to the late Fitchue and Christine (Mullins) Phipps. He was a 1977 graduate of Smithville High School and also a graduate from the Wayne County Career Center where he received his degree as an LPN. Tom worked in the medical field for almost 30 years and retired from his last place of employment at ResCare. His career as an LPN really gave light to what type of person Tom was. His genuine kindness and concern for others not only made him very good at his job, but also made him very likeable to all that he encountered. In addition to his compassionate side, Tom was also very soft spoken and quiet, but even so, still made an impact on his patients and friends that knew him. When he wasn’t helping others, Tom enjoyed nature’s beauty which included spending time outside, bird watching or enjoying the company of his husband, Robert and their 4 beloved dogs, Miss Sophia, Brandy, Betty and Finny. Tom also loved tending to his garden. He will be deeply missed by his loving husband Robert Bullock; his siblings Carl (Jill) Phipps, Alta (Jack) Malone, Jim (Patty) Phipps, John (Mary) Phipps and Connie (Maureen) Phipps; and his life-long friend, Candy Burns-Johnson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 11th from 11am to 1 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. and burial will take place following the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Massillon.
