Thomas R. Scharver

Thomas R. Scharver, 79, passed away on December 6, 2017 following an extended illness. He was born in North Canton to the late Harold L. and Anna Mae (Dennis) Scharver on August 31, 1938. A graduate of North Canton High School, Class of 1956, Tom was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Timken Company after 42 years of service and owned and operated Scharver Tax Service. Tom was a wonderful husband and father. He was a very hard worker and a man of few words. He enjoyed many years of bowling, hunting and golf. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joan Marie (Simon) Scharver and their beloved dog, Roxie; their son, John (Jennifer) Scharver of Columbus; two grandchildren, Ethan and Addison; his siblings, Larry (Vivian) Scharver, Judy DeMask and Richard (Derra) Scharver; Brother-in-law, Tim (Eileen) Simon; Sister-in-law, Claudia Simon; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2017 by Fr. Marian Babjak at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Garden.
